New Delhi : Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been sent to three day custody of CBI, following his arrest by the federal agency in the alleged liquor policy case. Initially, the agency had asked for five day custody.

CBI arrested Arvind Kejriwal inside Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court and then withdrew their Supreme Court petition demanding stay on grant of his bail in the same case.

Kejriwal's lawyer, however, argued that the move by the agency shows their biased nature of work. This was referenced to the fact that CBI has already quizzed Arvind Kejriwal in connection to the same case in April 2024.

Arvind Kejriwal also recounted three things he had told the agency at that time.

"I told them (the CBI) there were three points. First - increase revenue. Second - reduce crowds to handle law and order. Third - opening of liquor shops in the right proportion (i.e., equal distribution across the city). I had given instructions to Manish Sisodia (his former deputy, who, in February last year, was the first to be arrested in this case) to keep these three things in mind in the policy."

Meanwhile, Kejriwal also asked the court to defer the hearing for 24 hours so that he can study the case by CBI.
