Hyderabad : The Third Edition of the Pink Power Run witnessed a massive turnout of 35,000 participants at the HMDA Grounds near Prasads IMAX on Sunday. Organised jointly by Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd. (MEIL) and the Sudha Reddy Foundation, the community run aimed to promote preventive healthcare, early detection of breast cancer and women’s empowerment.

The event featured four race categories — 21K Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and 3K — with participation from people across age groups, including children, senior citizens, neurodivergent individuals and persons with disabilities. Elite runners from more than a dozen countries, including the USA, UK, UAE, Ethiopia, Kenya and Canada, participated in the 21K Half Marathon. The event was flagged off in the presence of Telangana Minister Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka), DGP C.V. Anand, MEIL Managing Director P.V. Krishna Reddy, Sudha Reddy, U.S. Consul General Laura Williams and other dignitaries.

The event also saw participation from former Miss World Thailand Opal Suchata Chuangsri, boxer Vijender Singh, actor Siddu Jonnalagadda and music composer S. Thaman. A notable participant was 47-year-old Ramabai Ranveer from Maharashtra, who previously gained attention for running barefoot to support her children’s education. U.S. Consul General Laura Williams participated in the 10K, while Sudha Reddy, P.V. Krishna Reddy and Opal Suchata joined the 5K and 10K runs.

In the 21K Half Marathon, Suneel Kumar won the men’s title and Sonam emerged winner in the women’s category. Harish Shareen and Vandana Patel secured the men’s and women’s titles respectively in the 10K, while Luv Choudhary and Anjali won the men’s and women’s 5K races. The organisers distributed cash prizes totalling Rs. 75 lakh, along with medals and trophies, to the top finishers across categories.

Speaking on the occasion, P.V. Krishna Reddy, Managing Director, MEIL, said regular exercise is essential for maintaining good health and preventing lifestyle diseases. Sudha Reddy, Founder, Sudha Reddy Foundation, said the initiative aims to promote fitness and health awareness across families and communities, adding that every participant was a “celebrity” for supporting the cause. Minister Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka) said the event would help create greater health awareness and consciousness across society.

The organisers said the overwhelming participation in Pink Power Run 3.0 reflects growing public awareness around preventive healthcare, early medical intervention and breast cancer screening. The initiative continues to bring together citizens, athletes and public figures to promote healthier lifestyles and strengthen awareness around women’s health.
